Tim Stones is the proud Dad of two extraordinary sons, Brendan and Rory. Brendan, his firstborn son, now aged 11, lives with Moyamoya Disease – a rare and potentially terminal illness that starves the brain of oxygen, triggering strokes and seizures. Brendan has survived five major strokes (his first a week before his 4th birthday), and several TIAs and seizures, one of which stopped his heart, necessitating CPR. Rory has himself survived third degree burns.
Tim holds an MA (Religious Studies) from UCT, and a PgDip in Journalism (Rhodes). He is a senior sub editor with a leading regional newspaper, and a Candidate Minister and itinerant preacher. He is also an athlete. His faith and his running helps him make sense of life, and to be, he hopes, a good dad to his sons, and husband to his beautiful wife, Lisa.
