The theme of the conference was “Advocating for Patient-Centred Healthcare” and the purpose was to provide a forum for rare disease patients, patient advocates, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders to connect and collaborate, and to facilitate an ongoing dialogue on rare diseases and their associated treatment.
The South African Medical Association accredited RareX 2018 for 23 Clinical Points (Level 1) and 1 Ethics Point (Level 1). See our Certificate of Accredication here.
To receive credit for attendance, attendees must be scanned once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Your name badge will include a QR code specifically allocated to you and this will need to be scanned for you to receive your CPD points. There is a single scanning station located adjacent to the REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION DESK, please visit this between 08:00 to 12:00, to claim your morning session CPD points, and in the afternoon, between 13:00 to 16:00, to claim your afternoon session CPD points.
If you are in possession of a South African Medical Association (SAMA) card, this can also be scanned (in the same way as above) in place of your name tags.
On conclusion of the conference this information will automatically be sent through to the accreditation body and captured on your individual record.
